Try the most delicious pink lady, she's not as cute as she looks.
The pink lady is a classic cocktail that has a light-blooded color from a few branches of grenadine. It was one of the first "girly drinks" and a favorite among the ladies of the high society from the 1930s to the 1950s.
This cocktail is very fun as it is not so sweet. Unlike many of today's pink cocktails, it has a small fruity sweet nose from grenadine, but the botany of a good gin still shines and provides a nice flavor contrast. Pink Lady has a much drier, gently tart flavor profile than one might expect from her name.
The key to any egg cocktail is to shake it longer than you would most cocktails to make sure everything is mixed well. The egg also makes a large foamy top on the pink liquid and creates a spectacular cocktail. If you prefer, you can simply skip the egg. Omitting the egg does not greatly affect the taste of the drink.

Gin: The pink lady is the perfect cocktail for a little gin tasting. It can work well with the traditional dry goons in London like Beefeater and Tanqueray, and it is equally delightful with any of the new glosses.
Experiment with The Pink Lady's taste using Hendrick's, Aviation or any other new gin.
The soft profile of the drink will blend well with almost any gin, and each one will be a whole new experience showing the specific gin's tastes.
Applejack: Applejack is an old-fashioned apple brand that makes a slow and steady return. It was very popular to use in classic cocktails like this and it is worth the effort to find a good app jacket.
Tip: Lairds is the most famous app jacket and it is quite easy to find.
Small distilleries are often your best source of quality apple juice. It is one of the easiest distilled spirits for craft distillers to produce and they often source their apples locally. Many local distilleries in apple-growing regions will have their own locally produced apple jacket. There are many applique-based cocktails that showcase the distinct taste of applique.
How strong is the Pink Lady Cocktail?
The pink lady may be a pretty small cocktail, but she packs a punch. Still, she is no different from the average classic martini style cocktail, as they are often made mainly by spirits. If you assume an 80-proof gin and applique and you choose to include egg white, you can expect the Pink Lady to weigh about 25% ABV (50 proof).
